The short version
We use Google Tag Manager for measurement. Beyond that the site is deliberately quiet: fonts are served from our own domain rather than a font CDN, and every calculator runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type into one is transmitted anywhere, ever.
The only thing stored on your device is a light or dark theme preference, kept in your browser's local storage so the site does not flash the wrong colours on your next visit. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it.
That will change when we enable advertising. The section on that below describes exactly what changes and when.
Who we are
Ignite Fit Journey operates ignitefitjourney.com and is the data controller for any personal data described here. Reach us throughour contact page about anything in this policy.
Google Tag Manager
Every page loads Google Tag Manager from googletagmanager.com. Tag Manager is a container: it does not collect anything by itself, but it loads the measurement tags we configure inside it, and those determine what is actually gathered. Loading it means your IP address and browser details are visible to Google as part of that request.
Tags configured in the container may set cookies or similar identifiers — an analytics tag typically does. See cookies for the current position. If you would rather not load it, blocking third-party scripts or using a content blocker prevents it without affecting how the site works, because nothing here depends on it.
What else we collect
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data — IP address, timestamp, page requested, user agent — for security and for keeping the site running. We do not use these to build a profile of you.
- Email you send us. If you email us, we hold that message and your address for as long as it takes to deal with it, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records.
We do not operate a contact form, we do not run a newsletter, we have no accounts or logins, we do not ask for or store health information, and we do not sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Calculators run on your device
Every calculator on this site — body fat, TDEE, macros, one rep max and the rest — executes in your browser as plain JavaScript. The weight, height, age, measurements and goals you enter are never sent to us, never stored, and are gone the moment you close the tab.
This is a deliberate design choice. It is also why none of them can save your results between visits.
What changes when we enable advertising
We intend to fund this site with advertising through Google AdSense. Advertising is currently switched off and no ad code is served — the spaces reserved for ads render as empty placeholders.
When it is switched on, the following will become true and this page will be updated on the same day:
- Google and its partners will set cookies and similar identifiers to serve, measure and, where permitted, personalise advertising.
- Your data may be processed by Google outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards Google publishes.
- For visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland we will deploy a Google-certified consent management platform, and advertising and measurement identifiers will not be set before you have given consent through it.
You will be able to opt out of personalised advertising atGoogle Ads Settingsor across participating vendors ataboutads.info, regardless of where you live. See cookies for the current state.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links to products are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy. Following one takes you to a third-party site with its own privacy policy and its own tracking, over which we have no control. Ouradvertising disclosure explains how this does and does not affect what we publish.
Why we are allowed to process this
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, our lawful bases are: legitimate interests for server logs kept for security and reliability; legitimate interests for answering correspondence you initiate; and consent for measurement and advertising identifiers set through Tag Manager or by advertising partners.
How long we keep it
Server logs are retained for a short operational period, typically under 30 days. Email correspondence is kept while the matter is open and for up to two years afterwards. We hold nothing else.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form.
If you are in California, you also have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal data, so there is nothing to opt out of today. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Email the privacy address on our contact page and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to ask a question to confirm who you are before acting.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to your data protection authority: the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, your national supervisory authority in the EEA, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in Australia, or your state Attorney General in the United States.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
The date at the top of this page changes whenever this policy changes materially. The next material change will be the introduction of advertising, described above.
This policy describes our actual practices in plain language. It is not legal advice, and it does not create rights beyond those the law already gives you.
